Join Tanglin Arts Studio
We encourage enrolment on a term-by-term basis for consistency in training and personal relationships, both with fellow students and teachers. Our school terms run from January until June (21 weeks) and August to December (17 weeks). This is based on the Northern Hemisphere school calendar. With fees payable each term, becoming a student means your child will be able to form close bonds with their new friends.

Do you offer trial classes?
Yes. We offer paid trial classes so children can experience the class environment, teaching style, and structure before committing to a term. This ensures a meaningful experience for both the child and the class.
What ages do you teach?
We offer classes for children from 18 months to 18 years, with age-appropriate programs for:

Tanglin Arts Studio offers the following classes:

Classes are designed to build confidence, coordination, musicality, creativity, and performance skills.
For our Early Years Program, we follow the Leap N’Learn Curriculum, followed by the ATOD Syllabus for Ballet, Jazz and Tap and the Acrobatic Arts Curriculum for our Acro classes.
We offer Ballet, Jazz and Tap exams annually in May.
Where is your studio located?
Our studio is located in central Singapore, inside the Hollandse Club, and is easily accessible from Orchard, Tanglin, Holland Village, Bukit Timah, and surrounding areas.
Are your classes suitable for beginners?
Yes. Many of our students start with no prior dance or performing arts experience. Classes are structured to support beginners while also allowing continuing students to progress at their own pace.
Do you follow a term system?
Yes. We operate on a structured term system, which provides consistency, progression, and clear learning outcomes for students. This approach supports skill development and long-term confidence.

We offer Ballet, Jazz, and Tap exams in May and an end-of-year show in December at one of Singapore’s theatres.
Is Tanglin Arts Studio suitable for expat families?
Absolutely. We work with many international and expat families and understand overseas travel, school transitions, and international schedules. Our community is welcoming, inclusive, and culturally diverse.
Is Tanglin Arts Studio only for expat families?
No. While Tanglin Arts Studio is very popular with international and expat families, we also have a strong local Singaporean community, and many local children train with us across all age groups and class styles.
Our studio brings together families from a wide range of backgrounds, creating a welcoming, inclusive environment where children learn, grow, and perform together. This mix of local and international students is something many parents value, as it reflects the diverse community of central Singapore.
What is your class size like?
Class sizes are kept manageable to ensure individual attention, safe instruction, and a positive learning environment for every child.
- Dance With Me – max 10 students
- Twinkle Stars – Diamonds max 12 to 14 students (depending on room size)
- Acrobatic max 6 to 10 students (depending on level)
- All other classes max of 10 students
What qualifications do your teachers have?
Our teachers are qualified, experienced professionals with strong backgrounds in dance and performing arts education. Many have international training and extensive experience working with children of all ages.
Miss Rebecca and Miss Liza hold degrees in Dance and Dance Education from international universities, and Miss Abbiee holds a degree in Musical Theatre from LaSalle College of the Arts, Singapore, with extensive teacher training.
We also have a student assistant helping out on weekends in most of our classes.
Our student assistants get trained via DanceStep, a Student Teacher Education Program! DanceStep is a 6-level Student Teacher Education Program for students aged 10 and over.
Do students need prior experience to join?
No prior experience is required for most classes. Placement is based on age, experience, and confidence level, and our team is happy to advise on the most suitable class.
What should my child wear to class?
Once enrolled, families will receive clear guidance on appropriate attire and footwear for each class style. This helps create a safe and focused learning environment.
All uniform pieces can be purchased at our shop in the office. Our uniform suppliers are Energetiks and MDM, two well-known Australian brands for dance studio wear.
Can parents watch the classes?
To support student focus and independence, parents generally do not observe regular classes. However, we offer specific viewing opportunities throughout the term so parents can see their child’s progress and development.

Do I need to be a member of the Hollandse Club to join Tanglin Arts Studio?
No. Tanglin Arts Studio is open to both members and non-members of the Hollandse Club.
You do not need to be a club member for your child to attend classes with us.
Hollandse Club members enjoy a 10% discount on tuition fees as part of their membership benefits.
Non-members are very welcome on site during classes. The club restaurant is open to both members and non-members, so parents can enjoy a drink or meal while their child is in class. There is also free on-site parking, making drop-off and pick-up easy and convenient.
